Install Yapp on your phone or computer

Yapp is a web app, so there's nothing to download from an app store. You install it straight from your browser — on Android, iPhone, a Windows PC or a Mac — and it opens in its own window like a normal app, with notifications when a customer messages you. Jump to your device below.

1.Android (Chrome)

Open app.yapp.co.za in Chrome and log in.
Tap the ⋮ menu (top-right).
Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
Confirm — the Yapp icon appears on your Home Screen.

Chrome sometimes shows an "Install" banner at the bottom — you can just tap that.

2.iPhone & iPad (Safari)

On iPhone/iPad you must use Safari — the "Add to Home Screen" option doesn't appear in Chrome or other browsers on iOS.

Open app.yapp.co.za in Safari and log in.
Tap the Share button (the square with an up-arrow).
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add — the Yapp icon appears on your Home Screen.
Open Yapp from that icon from now on (not from inside Safari).

3.Windows PC (Chrome or Edge)

Ideal for the shop counter or back office.

Open app.yapp.co.za in Chrome or Edge and log in.
Click the install icon on the right of the address bar (a small monitor / ⊕ icon), or open the ⋮ menu and choose Install Yapp (in Edge: Apps → Install this site as an app).
Confirm — Yapp opens in its own window and gets a shortcut on your Start menu and taskbar.

4.Mac (Chrome, Edge or Safari)

Chrome or Edge: open app.yapp.co.za, click the install icon in the address bar (or ⋮ menu → Install Yapp), and confirm.
Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or later): open the page, then choose File → Add to Dock.
Yapp then opens from the Dock or Launchpad like a normal app.

5.Turn on notifications

Once installed, open Yapp from the installed app icon (Home Screen, Dock or Start menu — not a browser tab), go to the Dashboard, and tap Enable notifications. You'll get a ping when a customer messages a chat you handle, even when Yapp is closed. Do this on each device you use.

iPhone: notifications need iOS 16.4 or later, and Yapp must be opened from the Home Screen icon (not Safari).
Everywhere: make sure Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't silencing them.
